For me, intaglio printmaking is the perfect medium as it combines the art of drawing with technical craftsmanship. I have always been drawn to working with my hands, and for a while supported myself as a carpenter. I find carving, scratching and etching into the metal plate a tactile experience which imparts an almost sculptural aspect to my work. I draw inspiration from nature, including the human body, and strive to convey the motion of life in my work.
